Presidency Message
Dear Sisters,
I hope those of you who attended our Visiting Teaching Conference received some ideas and inspiration to know how you can personally improve in your visiting teaching efforts. Remember what President Gordon B. Hinckley said:
"(Visiting teaching) is a very serious responsibility; it really is. But it is not a heavy burden, it just takes a little more faith. It is worthy of our very best effort."
As you go forth and organize your schedules for the month of March, think of the sisters you visit teach and pencil them in. If it comes down to the end of the month and you have not managed to visit them, call them to check on them. If you can't get them on the phone, send them a card in the mail. If you email back and forth with your sisters and have a conversation that way, this can also work. Sometimes we can get too busy to receive face-to-face contact, but email communication is easier. As a guideline, you should visit the sisters on your routes AT LEAST once per quarter, and use other forms of communication when visiting isn't working out.
As a presidency, we love you all, but we can't be everywhere to assess every sister's needs each month. We appreciate your efforts in visiting, keeping contact, and your reporting back to us when help is needed.
Prayerfully consider the needs of your sisters before visiting them. The Holy Ghost will inspire you to know what they need to hear and what you can do to help them. Every one of you is capable of seeking, receiving, and acting on personal revelation.
Sister Barbara Thompson from the Relief Society General Presidency said:
"...the beauty of visiting teaching is seeing lives changes, tears wiped away, testimonies growing, people loved, families strengthened, people cheered, the hungry fed, the sick visited, and those who are mourning comforted."
What a wonderful plan Heavenly Father has put in place for us to care for one another and watch over one another!
Please let me know if you have any concerns about your routes or the sisters you visit. I want to help you.
Happy Visiting Teaching!
Love,
Kristal

Message from Ruthie
Dear Sisters,
I think January was a great start for the new year. Our first Relief Society Meeting, Sister WHO?, made it a lot of fun getting to know one another better.
We aren't going to miss a beat during February even though we had lots of snow. Hopefully we have gotten a little rest and are ready to pull up our sleeves and go! Our first lesson goes right with this month's visiting teaching message. I was amazed when I read it because it fits so perfectly with our theme for 2011! As a presidency, we prayerfully thought about a theme for this year. We were prompted to use the Relief Society Declaration. So this year we are going to learn to be united, love one another, have faith and rely on the Lord, our Savior. This will increase our testimonies and strengthen our families in the process.
We are so excited to be a part of the Fayetteville 2nd Ward Relief Society and be in the company of our sisters. Thank you for being the spirited bunch you are!

We are beloved spirit daughters of God, and our lives have meaning, purpose, and direction. As a worldwide sisterhood, we are united in our devotion to Jesus Christ, our Savior, and Exemplar. We are women of faith, virtue, vision, and charity who:
Increase our testimonies of Jesus Christ through prayer and scripture study
See spiritual strenth by following the promptings of the Holy Ghost
Dedicate ourselves to strengthening marriages, families, and homes
Find nobility in motherhood and joy in womanhood
Delight in service and good works
Love life and learning
Stand for truth and righteousness
Sustain the priesthood as the authority of God on earth
Rejoice in the blessings of the temple, understand our divine destiny, and strive for exaltation.
We are so excited to be a part of the Fayetteville 2nd Ward Relief Society and be in the company of our sisters. Thank you for being the spirited bunch you are!

Happy New Year!
Sister Sallings gave a wonderful Sunday lesson about Unity this week. We hope we can create stronger unity in our marriages, our families, our ward, and in our Relief Society as we look forward and make plans for 2011.
Due to scheduling, we will not get to have our Teaching For Our Times lesson this month with ward and stake conferences happening. We encourage all of you to go ahead and read what the bishop had intended for us to base the TFOT lesson on for January. Receive the Holy Ghost by Elder David A. Bednar and The Holy Ghost and Revelation by Elder Jay E. Jensen were the talks we were to focus on. The links to these talks can be found here:

This is going to be a great year in Relief Society! As a presidency, we are excited to make plans on how we can serve you this year!
Don't forget our first monthly Relief Society Meeting of the year on Thursday, January 20, at 6:30 pm. Sister WHO? Come get to know all the new sisters in the ward, have some fun activities, socialize, and eat yummy snacks. We can't wait :)
